The SEVA Seahawk Swim Team is a competitive program offering both seasonal and year-round instruction, training and competition to young people starting at age six (6).  Swimmers over age 18 must be able to train in the Senior or National group.  The SEVA program sets it’s goals high for both swimmer and team, but at the same time provides the developmental progression needed by all successful swimmers and growing children.  The program is designed and administered by professional coaches interested in developing successful people as well as successful swimmers.  To accomplish this, the following team objectives form the basis of the program.

1.       To provide opportunities for social and emotional development as well as cultural and educational growth.

2.       To instill an appreciation for the potential of high self-esteem, the value of hard work, and the importance of good sportsmanship.  To teach a high level of skill development and to promote a high fitness level, which is reaching a critical stage with youth in our country.

3.       To motivate and challenge young people so that that they can be “The Best They Can Be.” 

4.       To provide the best possible instruction, training and competition for every SEVA swimmer.  The long-term goal for all swimmers is to be successful at the state age group level and/or senior sectional, national or international level.

5.       To develop and maintain a team that is the best in Virginia, on the east coast and continually ranks in the top ten in the country at Nationals.  To consistently place swimmers on USA Swimming National Teams, achieve World Ranking and have swimmers make World Championship and Olympic Teams.   

     The swim team is a registered member of USA Swimming, Inc. and Virginia Swimming, Inc., which are the national, and state governing bodies under the United States Olympic Committee.  The team offers seven levels of professional instruction and training.
